What is blockchain

blockchain is a chain of blocks that contains information. This technique was originally described in 1991 by a group of researchers and was originally intended to timestamp digital documents so that it’s not possible to backdate them Like the name indicates, a blockchain is a chain of blocks that contains information. or to tamper with them. A blockchain is a distributed ledger that is completely open to anyone. They have an interesting property once some data has been recorded inside a blockchain, it becomes very difficult to change it.

how does that work?

Each block contains some data, the hash of the block and the hash of the previous block. The data that is stored inside a block depends on the type of blockchain. A block also has a hash. You can compare a hash to a fingerprint. It identifies a block and all of its contents, and it's always unique, j ust like a fingerprint. Once a block is created, its hash is calculated. Changing something inside the block will cause the hash to change. So, in other words: hashes are very useful when you want to detect changes to blocks. If the fingerprint of a block changes, it no longer is the same block. This effectively creates a chain of blocks, and it’s this technique that makes a blockchain

Ether is also used as a major security mechanism in DeFi lending markets, as a unit of account in NFT markets, as a reward for performing services or selling real-world assets, and more. Ethereum allows developers to build land-distributed applications (dapps), all of which share a large amount of computer power. This shared pool is limited, so Ethereum needs a way to decide who will use it. Otherwise, dapp could accidentally or maliciously use all network resources, which could prevent others from accessing it. Ether cryptocurrency supports Ethereum computer power pricing method. If users want to do a job, they have to pay for ether so that their work can be seen in the blockchain. These operating costs are known as gas charges, and the cost of gas depends on the amount of computer power required to perform the operation and the need for the entire computer network at that time. Therefore, even if the malicious dapp sends an endless loop, the function will eventually run out of ether and disconnected, allowing the network to return to normal.

How does MERN work?

The MERN stack is a 3-tier architecture using JavaScript and JSON. The tiers are the frontend, backend, and the database.

React is the front end as this JavaScript framework is key to creating client-side application in HTML, this framework has multiple complex components to connect the frontend to the backend server and finally render is as a presentable HTML to the user. The advantage of using React is that it uses minimal code, great at error-handling, events, and lists.

Express is a server sided framework that is running inside a Node server, Express has powerful models for URL routing, matching HTTP requests and responses.

MongoDB is a database system that is well synchronized and easy to use with React, Express and Node. This is used to store any data connected to the project that is being built such as user profiles, images, uploads, events and so on. JSON documents created by React can be directed to the Express server where they are processed and stored directly in the MongoDB.

MongoDB

It's open-source and incurs fewer server costs. Open-source is free. NoSQL databases use cheaper servers, so the price of data storage and processing per gig is significantly lower.

It's easily and highly scalable. Since NoSQL databases like MongoDB expand horizontally, you can scale by adding more machines to your resource pool.

MongoDB has no schema hassles. You can place data into a NoSQL database without requiring a predefined schema, so you can change the data model and formats without disrupting applications.

It's user-friendly. MongoDB offers plenty of useful features (Ad-hoc queries, aggregation, capped collection, file storage, indexing, load balancing, replication, server-side JavaScript execution) that makes it a user-friendly database.

It supports integrated caching. System memory caching boosts data output performance.

Working Environment of MongoDB

The entire database consists of collections. These collections hold multiple documents, and since MongoDB is schemaless, the documents in one collection need not be similar. All data is stored as BSON documents with the halp of key-value pairs. At the backend, MongoDB converts JSON data into a binary format known as BSON. MongoDB also makes provision for nested data. This makes fetching data comparatively efficient.
